I've been playing with the idea of building a Digital Research Academy and I need your feedback!

The idea is to build a network of trainers in #OpenScience, software #RSEng, and #dataliteracy from different fields to be able to provide great training.

From the community for the community 🙌

What other cool initiative exist, that we could learn from?

What are your experiences?

What would be a good organisational form for this?

Let me know! (see article)

Have you looked at The Carpentries projects? In particular there is an #HPC carpentry effort going on now organized by @tkphd and others to develop lessons for the HPC community. Here’s a link to their most recent co-working meeting. Perhaps a similar effort could be a good approach for the RSE community.

@AlanSill @tkphd thanks Alan, yes definetly The Carpentries are a huge inspiration for this, absolutely. I don't want it as a competitor but as a collaborator to @thecarpentries

@tkphd @thecarpentries How about opening a channel on the hpc.social Slack or Discord or carpentries.org Slack for this? https://hpc.social/projects/chat https://carpentries.org/connect/

@AlanSill @tkphd We also responded on Twitter, but Happy to connect to discuss potential collaboration. Recommend our Regional Coordinator in the DACH region (https://carpentries.org/regions_dach/), or @alycrall our Director of Community.
