This genie does not go back in the bottle, now that we have easy to use publicly accessible AI tools for art, text generation, likely music in a year or 2, I'm curious the see how this shakes up these creative spaces.

Yes it's a little bit scuffed right now, hands being the biggest weaknes but let's not pretend that this problem isn't going to dealt with over time. Any one who's been paying attention for a long time should remember how bad hair used to be.

Initially people thought that creative heavy fields would be one of the last things we see automated and more menial work would be first, that prediction now seems to be completely backwards.

I'd be surprised if we don't see AI content generation heavily integrated into these fields within a year or 2 and a lot of the less skilled artists losing any ability to commission or maybe shifting over to being prompt generators for people unsure how to use these AI systems.

I recently talked to two students from an AI lab at the university I work at, and our conclusion was, that the last job AI will take away from us will be plumbing, because that requires a lot of hand dexterity at a lot of different places, and also water, that could short circuit a robot 😂

@nicemicro When I say menial work I mean low skill work, digging holes, moving product around, basic landscaping. Plumbing, electrical, mechanic, these are much higher skill positions.

I think streaming doing art might become more popular. Like in a world where you can just generate art, seeing an actual person do it might make it valuable. Just a guess though, could be wrong.
