Me and my (12-ish years old) brother have been looking at #uxn, and are half-way through the second day of compudanza’s tutorial (reading at gemini://compudanzas.net/uxn_tutorial_day_2.gmi, but also available at https://compudanzas.net/uxn_tutorial_day_2.html), and have been having a lot of fun. Love the machine and the language.
(What follows would be a bug report, if I wasn’t 99% certain I’ve done something wrong.)
However, for some reason, in various cases (such as when launching our own programs from launcher.rom, or when opening and closing menus in Left), we get visual glitches. In the case of the launcher, it looks like it sort-of-but-not entirely forgets to clear the background when it (re)launches, or when a new rom is launched. For Left, the menus leave a… residue on the dotted line between the menus and the lower editing area. Also the mouse sometimes leaves ghosts. Attached is a screenshot of what Left looks like if i open and close all the menus from left to right after opening it. I got the uxn binaries from running the build script in the folder of the git repo, with the most recent pulled commit being from the 26th of July.
