#Introduction 1 / 2
Fresh migration to ecoevo! My name is Juan and I am a #PhD student at the NIB (#Slovenia). I’m a #biologist and #musician. My field is #Biotremology, or the study of communication in animals by substrate-borne vibrations. In my case, I study hay-meadow habitats and their #vibroscape. I use laser vibrometers to record it.
Here is our paper on vibroscapes:

Is It Time for Ecotremology?
Our awareness of air-borne sounds in natural and urban habitats has led to the recent recognition of soundscape ecology and ecoacoustics as interdisciplinary fields of research that can help us better understand ecological processes and ecosystem dyn…Frontiers

A series of technological looking things (reminds me of camcorders) are affixed to tripods and pointing to the ground in a green field. They presumably attached to a laptop that is sitting on a folding table in front of one of the tripod things. Under the table is big lead-acid looking battery. It feels like this tech rig is deployed in some sort of wilderness.

No worries @Tremoneta I saw you had alt text on the second picture on your thread. Just wanted to help fill in the gaps.
Last i heard you can edit the toot to add alt text but you may have to remove and reupload the picture to do so. You could also just add it in a reply like I have done. Hopefully I did it justice.
Welcome to the fediverse and sorry for just popping out of the blue with a correction. Excited to hear more about your research and music!
