Published in 2016, this brilliant comic by artist Joe Dator somehow feels even more timely in 2023. #art

@mmasnick eh, it was supposed to be in the form of a question anyway, so no biggie.

Yup. Tedros on one side saying pandemic is still emergency, CDC on the other saying we need to protect vulnerable now more than ever, Biden in the middle yelling over them that the emergency is over without a fact to back.

Hate to say it, but it is just possible that sometimes I have gotten the points by shouting out the incorrect answer. Sigh.

isn’t this the basic premise of Netflix’s new game show “Bullsh*t”?

I'm just going to put #ChatGPT and #ChatGPTSearches against this because this is the future of searching things on the Web with the confident BS generator machine.

welcome to 21st century where facts don't matter but your feelings does.

This is how it has always been.
One only needs to spend a little time inside a classroom in Anywhere, USA.
America has been GROOMING WM to expect privilege over the competence and hard work of everybody else forever.
And now those same WM are so grossly INcompetent, nobody wants to hire (or fck) them, and they're pissed. So pissed they want to dominate others, by force if necessary.

the fast talking Gish Gallop style also works, especially when you add the button of “Facts don’t care about your feelings,” which then rhetorically seems to contextualize everything they said as a fact that is only solidified by your inability to offer a rebuttal to 10 non-sequiturs hosed at you in 20 seconds.

Since Kevin then explained your answer to you, he gets the point.
