Look who it is! I recently drove right past Ingenuity and got a pic after it ended its 53rd flight early. Happy to say it’s since completed a 54th flight to check out its systems. (Even caught a glimpse of me too!) Latest #MarsHelicopter status: go.nasa.gov/43YuiqW

Oh hey @MarsCuriosity – Happy 11th “landiversary!” 🎉 Did you know I’m just 10 km short of your 30 km of driving on Mars? Following your mission and wheel tracks from afar here at Jezero Crater.

This is one HARD rock! I gave it a go with my coring drill, but it seems this one doesn’t want to give up all its secrets. Still, I can study it more with my science instruments and use my drill next time. Sometimes the better part of perseverance is knowing when to move on!

Look at this big chunky weirdo. 🪨 I love it.

I spotted this boulder from a distance and have come in for a closer look. It’s harder than most, with an odd shape and makeup. #SamplingMars could be a challenge here, but I’m up for it!

Rock nerds rejoice! From big boulders to tiny pebbles, the ancient riverbed I’m exploring right now has it all. Washed in from upstream, these fragments can help my team uncover the river’s past and its potential for supporting ancient life. Read more: go.nasa.gov/3K5IXJA

Have you ever found an old book and blown the dust off to see what story it might have to tell? That’s pretty much what I’m doing here. I came upon an interesting boulder, hit it with a puff of compressed air, and am taking a closer look. I’ll see if I can get a peek inside, too.

I’ve been #SamplingMars for nearly two years, but I’ll always remember “Montdenier” and “Montagnac,” the pair of rock cores that kickstarted my rock collection. What made this such an unforgettable duo? One of my mission experts explains:

There’s nothing more satisfying than #SamplingMars, especially after my last two attempts on an uncooperative rock! This one looks great AND offers something I don’t yet have in my collection: a rock core with larger pebbles inside. Why that’s good: go.nasa.gov/3pnj1lS

It takes six custom wheels and some fancy suspension to stay safe on Mars, and the folks at LEGO have recreated my unusual mobility system in a new model.

Sometimes #SamplingMars has its surprises. Hear from one of my scientists about the first sample I collected, and how we made Martian “lemonade” when Mars gave us a lemon. 🔴 🍋

As I travel around #SamplingMars, I’m collecting little pieces of history – the history of our solar system. Each sample I collect has a story to tell. Hear what’s special about the pair we call “Hazeltop” and “Bearwallow.”

Hmm. After two tries drilling this pebbly outcrop, it seems this crumbly rock doesn’t want to hold together for a core sample. I’ll look for something similar at another spot nearby.

That’s it for now! Meanwhile, I’ll be out here exploring Mars and collecting more samples – hopefully for years to come. Follow along with my journey, here or at: mars.nasa.gov/mars2020.

Zooming in on Belva Crater. Places like this, where nature has done the excavating for you, can be great for getting a look at exposed rocks from under the surface. Hooray for meteorites! ☄️

Question: When you see something like this, do you say, “Huh, a pile of rocks.” – or something more like, “Whoa! Crazy tall, tilted, sedimentary layers! Formed by a fast-moving ancient river, maybe?”

(I think you know where I stand.)

When I recently dropped 10 lightsabers – I mean *sample tubes* – on Mars, I was laying the groundwork for a potentially thrilling sequel. Future droids may recover this special cache. Meanwhile, there’s more to do on this desert planet…

The #MarsHelicopter and I have been closer together lately, allowing us to snap pics of each other for the first time in a while. Can you find me in one of these images, and Ingenuity in the other? 🔍
