“Feudalism” was always caricature of what medieval governance actually was, but in the digital era we have adopted that caricature. The acceptance of unaccountable admins spread through our networks and is now bleeding into our politics.

Why can't more journalists reporting on "AI" straightforwardly say "This is bad, actually"? Case in point: In this article juxtaposing the grandiose claims of OpenAI et al with the massive environmental footprint of LLMs, Goldman still has to include this weird AI optimism:

Marathon 2 a classic FPS originally from Destiny developer Bungie now on Steam
After the Aleph One developer community released the first in the trilogy of Marathon on Steam, originally created by Bungie, they've now put up Classic Marathon 2.Liam Dawe (GamingOnLinux)
Marathon 1, 2, and Infinity were a huge part of my early teens. I still love the story and vibe. It makes me wish Halo and Destiny were a little grittier.
I feel like I only found them because Bungie had claimed the super-weird niche of being a Mac-first software company and my dad would only buy Apple.
I think a lot of people missed out since they were on PC. And now it's finally on Steam 😂 👴

SCAD is Twisted Metal meets Vampire Survivors and I want it now
I'm a total sucker for over the top action, especially when you're tearing down hordes of enemies in whatever bullet hell / bullet heaven game comes along since Vampire Survivors kicked it all off. The next one I need in my life is SCAD.Liam Dawe (GamingOnLinux)

Then non-Linux users who see that from the sidelines also think they have to understand these under-the-hood things to figure out how to use the OS.
I mostly care about my PC booting up, running the things I want to run, and not crashing. I've installed POP OS about 2 yrs ago and only tinkered slightly with the Desktop Environment. That's all.

On a more serious note, I suspect the lack of "industry standard" software like Adobe Photoshop is one huge obstacle to Linux adoption.
