At this time of year the eucalyptus trees shed their bark. Underneath the new bark can have the most amazing colours! The one eucalypt with the pink bark is called a "lemon eucalyptus" because it gives off the most beautiful lemony scent, especially on humid days like today!

"Traditionally, the forests of Connecticut, western Rhode Island and south eastern Massachusetts have yielded ample witch hazel to supply the mill. Because of fragmentation of forestland, witch hazel cutters (who typically contract with the mill to supply a fixed amount of witch hazel per season) have had to travel into western Massachusetts and southern Vermont and New Hampshire to obtain material."
