Kiteworks acquires ownCloud & Dracoon - Nextcloud

Today, US based file sync & share vendor Kiteworks announced their acquisition of ownCloud and Dracoon. Nextcloud offers a free hands on migration service and takes over the remaining runtime of the contracts.

I migrated my 6 years old Owncloud instance to Nextcloud last year. Was afraid to do that for a long time, but at the end everything worked. Best decision!

Does anyone at #RUB or any other #NRW #university know if this will have any consequences for #Sciebo (#Hochschulcloud)? I would be all in favour of migrating this to nextcloud instead but the realist in me tells me that this won't happen.

Ugh. I love y'all, but I always have performance issues when running Nextcloud that I don't have when running OwnCloud on the same hardware. That they got bought is really disappointing.
