over half of the steam releases breaking that magic number of 10 reviews is honestly a way better result than I would expect

so there's time for new profession: game finder. Search for underrated games, win popularity on social media.
Also the same with alternative music: there's an ocean of unknown cool music, and i can't find nothing.
Just like games in Steam ๐Ÿ˜‰

that sounds about right, especially looking at the history.
The whole marketing and outreach bit is really hard to figure out. With a published game on steam with maybe like 50 sales or something: hard to get into, and requires some combination of hard publicity work and luck.

Considering the amount of low effort, garbage games that have come across my Discovery Queue, I'm not surprised.
