I can be at peace with AI features in my browser as long as they are dormant when I'm not using them, and the AI backend is open-source, disable-able, and able to be self-hosted if needbe.

That said, Mozilla's doing plenty of shit to undermine their credibility as a leading open-source organization, and this does appear to be more of the same.

I will begrudgingly accept AI in my browser when these two conditions have been met:

1: All the AI is optional and set to opt-out by default
2: Controls for the AI are located under whatever the browser calls their "Safety / Security" controls

The way they consistently keep disappointing what's left of their user base is nothing short of impressive.

"Dear Anthony,

Are you stupid?

Because this kinda makes it seem like you're stupid.

Sincerely,

Everybody"

Big tech bros' control of Mozilla's board is obsessed with destroying its enterprise and turning it into a small male angler fish permanently attached to a big tech bro piranha.

"As announced today on the Mozilla blog, they've got a new CEO with Anthony Enzor-DeMeo. Here's a short but important excerpt on the future of Firefox from the post"

Upon first glance, I could have sworn it said "He's a short but important expert"

I just posted about that a moment ago. NFW I want an "AI Browser." Google can build one all they want. I wish I could play DRM videos with Palemoon but its developer is dead set against giving it that capability.

That's one of the reasons why I got fed up of all the Browsers and went to Waterfox, the best of them all!

We noticed a rising interest regarding the use of AI in browsers. To be clear about our position on this: Zen currently is disabling all AI features included in Firefox and will continue to do so.
