We’ve been visited by a very tame magpie. He seems to like peanuts (chopped) but not birdseed. Technically I should feed him mealworms, or earthworms but I don’t have any handy (funny that).

I'm not sure Australian Magpies can learn to speak human languages, but they are very clever. This one had no fear at all, and would have walked right inside if I let it (it ate off my hand on first contact, so someone around the neighbourhood has clearly been feeding it).

I hope he comes back regularly. I'll have to find some more appropriate food for him. Peanuts aren't their regular diet, nor peanut biscuits. (the only things I had on hand).
