Upper Cretaceous. Approximately 100.5 million to 66 million years ago. When alive, this creature lived in warm, shallow seas and had a very short tail, which was fitted with a venomous stinger. I mentioned that yesterday, I went to a quilt show to take photographs. There were many more people there than I imagined that there would be - I generally don't like crowds. It wasn't lost on me that I was the only man there - at least at that time. But I while I took photos, I watched the people there and the thing that impressed me the most was how happy they were.

Over a hundred quilts were on display and there were various booths selling fabric, quilted bags, etc.

Our friendly magpie was back today, foraging for worms and bugs in the backyard, with a new friend, a Pied Currawong.

They seemed to get along ok together.
