Have you ever looked at the work of Fred Herzog? He's my favourite analog photographer. He was unique in that he almost exclusively used kodachrome film. And bonus he was based in Vancouver. https://www.equinoxgallery.com/our-artists/fred-herzog/

Have you tried optical printing and then scanning from that? No idea what film scanning tech is like, nowadaze... but 30yrs ago scanning from a color negative was just not possible w/o distorting the intent of the light exposure of the film. That said, the color and tones looks lovely on my dinky phone screen.

@ninavizz I have not, I have not seen any place that offers optical color prints. The darkrooms I've seen only have equipment for black and white prints, everything else goes through a digital process.
