Yes. Exactly my point. It could be usefull, but it is annoying that AI is everywhere, even on thinks that have nothing to do with computers.

yes, I agree. Wholeheartedly!
Seriously wish there was something about the incredible power consumption of "AI" in that interview. Unless there is, and it just wasn't in that part of it. 😀

2/3.
I hate the hype cycle and I ignore AI. I have yet to see a benefit in it that does not consume so many earth resources we should use for humans instead of 3 million variations of a funny face.

the bottom handful of resource users should probably be war, crypto mining, "ai", crypto exchanges, and internet advertisements.

A.I. is just the next 3D TV or VR headset. It may not go away, but it isn't going to be anything like all the hype that is being shoveled at us.

TOTALLY AGREE with Linus

Marketing and hype as is today, is a cancer IMHO, and it's now even an hard workload to avoid shit and find reality in advertising that want you only to consume something at any cost

in reply to It's FOSS

It consumes so much energy and most people only use it for nonsense. I think AI services should be a lot more expensive in order to reduce the global power consumption and make people think before they enter their prompts.

so far me its a waste of time. Try asking it simple things and it just gives you nothing
in reply to It's FOSS

nope. I do not agree. AI will always remain a hype, because even when it will reach maturity it will not do the things you wished it do. It will do the things it will be programmed to do.
