too late, everyone is migrating away from Unity already, nobody in their right mind would or should trust a company that has already fucked everyone over and just gave middlefingers in response to any complaints until they started to die out.

They'd have to do a whole lot more to regain trust, like open sourcing to be able to compete with Godot, and I Very Much Doubt they ever would do that.

I just feel that they have destroyed all trust developers have with Unity. If I were to develop a game, I wouldn't want to risk years of work just on some external company mucking it up.

I think this whole ordeal angered me personally because learning a new engine and APIs means dedicating so much time that you learn a new way of thinking.

If a company then uses that to trap an entire community, in my opinion that's just evil.
