Glad to see any large computer manufacturer making sense. Hopefully more Linux machines in the future.

I bet it's the Windows drivers. They can't depend on free software for that.

did a search for Dell Pro Max 16 Plus at the local dell page, the first ones listed are the cheaper models (xcto_mb16250_emea), pushing for ms-windows, while the 5 times more expensive models (bto112rs_mb16250_emea) then they switched to push for Linux, sure you can customize and select ubuntu, but that option you also have with the Dell Pro Max 16 too.

The main issue with mainstream Linux laptops - they are very cheap or very expensive. Minimum Linux laptops are in the middle price/power range.

so, you can run ‘linux’ on a ten year old laptop but De££ wants over 3k for a Linux machine!!

Because Windows is mostly about being able to run existing business programs, so Windows on ARM is pointless, especially with Windows 11, compared to Linux were there is better support for ARM native programs.

Also no-one other than "AI evangelists" needs an "AI laptop".

My "desktop" ARM experience is MX Linux on Raspberry Pi 4B with 4K or QHD monitors.
Changed x86-64 from Windows to Linux by January 2017.
