Inspired might be pushing it a bit eh? MineClone2 as the name suggests really is a clone of early Minecraft, although this is free and open source powered by the Minetest game engine.

OMG. I didn't know that the open source clones had a shared base in form of a game engine. This is amazing and makes total sense in the #foss space.

As someone who has spent more time than I care to admit playing MC, minetest is one of those things I really want to succeed, but I always come back to the honestly imo better modding scene of Minecraft

Maybe one day it'll be able to compete in that area, but until then I'll be watching it's progress with interest from MC
