I managed to migrate all my media administration to #Ubuntu :ubuntu: since 2021. Sadly, still using #Windows for work. Shout out to all those #foss developers, testers, communities and people taking time to write / record tutorials, how to's and trobleshooting content, my journey wouldn't be possible without you. 🐧

since SuSE 7.1 around 2001 (bought a box with discs and a thick printed manual) on and off, and as my daily driver since Fedora Core 3 (~ 2004)

1 year, it's been great. My laptop can game but Ubuntu seems to struggle with it. Or Linux. I'm not really sure. But I feel confident my computer is encrypted and when I crash I up fetch updates and upgrades and it actually works unlike windows. My snaps work and save their log ins. Nothing starts at the same time in start up by default. My peripherals work. It's very good for organizing and personal work

Since the beginning, it started with 7 3,5 disks and a 19200 BBS connection

Since the early 90s. It was a PITA back then. Dual booted with Windows for several years. I've been 100% Linux for years now. Installation is dead simple and everything just works. I use Windows for work and it reminds me every day why my personal computers are all Linux.

I technically first used Linux in the 2000-2005 time period when my work added application support for SuSE. I only connected to it via command line, and it was not the main system I used (AIX / HP-UX / Solaris was where I did most of my work). I tried using Linux at home in 2008, again in 2010, then checked occasionally on if it finally ran better on my systems over 2012-2022. I started using Linux full time at home about 9 months ago and plan to stay on it.

using linux as my main OS for over a year now, completely replacing Windows on all our devices, except my sisters laptop.

Still looking for a way to convince her 🤣. She is using W10 and always tells me "if it works don't fix it". (Running for almost 8 years without issues) I might need to sabotage something 🤣🤫.

Just kidding, hoping she will understand the need to switch in the future.

I use #Linux #distros since 2001

#Conectiva (until its extinction)
#Kurumin (for a short time)
#Xubuntu (first versions)
#Ubuntu (old #GNOME era, for a short time)
#LinuxMint with #XFCE (until now)

Since 1990s with #Slackware, booting from 3 1/2 floppy. I messed up X11 config and almost lost my graphics card.
Then went to mandrake, conectiva, debian and I'm now an #ubuntu user. However, I'm getting tired of the snap package thing so I'm thinking of moving again.

Summer 2009, although I had used #mandrake and #Slackware for a few months in 2003

started around mid-2022, with Arcolinux. Have been daily-driving Arch <img class=" title=":archlinux:"/> for almost three years at this point.

Since about 97 or 98. Started with a French fork of red hat called Kheops Linux.

Apparently there's an archive here

Linux since 2017. In the world of GIMP plugins since 2021.
in reply to It's FOSS

Since I first installed Slackware from a stack of floppy disks. So, a long time.

I've been daily driving Linux now for almost 4 years, been using it for a few more than that. Since 2015 I've been messing with it.
