He’s here! The prototype, anyway. He’s big, squishy, and friend-shaped. We’ll try to make him as affordable as possible. You’ll have to wait a couple more months to get one, but we might open pre-orders relatively soon.

super cute, but will there be a 1/4 size version? That toy looks huge!
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Ah, I see you own a or multiple cats. 😁 Love the plushy!

The first social network to be funded entirely by plushie sales
in reply to B. A. Balackus

@BigAngBlack The logistics won't allow multiple colors. Minimum production quantity is 500. So unless we can sell 500 of each color, it's not possible.
in reply to Luna Lactea

@jackemled You mean ours specifically? Still workshopping it. Maybe Levi, as short for Leviathan, because he's such a big toy.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Made in which country?
Sustainable product, or another throwaway toy for the landfill?

Sorry if I'm not being sycophantic enough, it's easy to be cynical, and all that.

in reply to Eugen Rochko

❤️🐘 Please try to ship from EU to EU, instead of the current shipping from the UK.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Out of curiosity, if the price point was around 30 USD, and we kept the shipping around or below 10 USD, and you wanted to order one of these, which region would you be ordering from? Trying to get an idea for the logistics.

30+10 € it's really too much, IMHO

Anyway little #masty it's so cute! 😉

in reply to Eugen Rochko

20-25 maximum IMHO, anyway I'm not an expert of these kind of toy, this was only my personal price propensity to buy one 😃
in reply to Eugen Rochko

you should charge what you need to charge. There’s a market for everyone and there’s always someone that will want to pay less. Can’t please everyone, especially since it’s bulky, shipping will always be big no matter why.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

@opensoul

I wouldn’t pay any more than £2.

Moreover, do humans really need more plastic filled with plastic?

in reply to Raff Karva

@RaffKarva @opensoul 2 GBP for a 35cm stuffed toy is not a realistic expectation. What materials and working conditions would be necessary to make it that cheap? It's just not possible.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

@RaffKarva @opensoul

After getting kids and understanding what stuffed animals costs, 30 USD is totally reasonable for that size and quality.

in reply to Eugen Rochko

I wouldn't order it. I only love Plushies if they are ugly. And that Plushie isn't ugly at all! But, away from that, the price for it and for the shipping sounds quiet fair to me.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

that’s be £31 ish for the UK so I’d really have to love it at that price & it’s quite a large size. Smaller one, cheaper price, maybe.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

I’d say USD25+10 would be more reasonable, but it’s also too big. I’d definitely buy one if it was 10~15cm tall.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Canada (although we do have a US address for shipping cost efficiencies).
in reply to Eugen Rochko

id be surprised if you were able to make any margin shipping from the US into Canada at 40 USD all in.

Same time, yes, I want/need

in reply to FCLC

@fclc Not really in it for the margin. Most of all would just love to see people have these. Still, can't be losing money on it either, so we'll see.
@FCLC
in reply to Eugen Rochko

ah ok.

I was looking at it from the PoV where any profit/margin is effectively a donation to the project!

40 USD is roughly 50 CAD. It’s not inexpensive, but for a large, niche plush, isn’t all that weird.

From the images, it looks a lot like a squishmallow type plush?

in reply to FCLC

@fclc There is a video in my recent posts where you can see how squishy it is.
@FCLC
in reply to Eugen Rochko

I love him(?) and would do evil things (recommend EMacs) in exchange for one.

At 50 Cad, I’d pick one up

in reply to Eugen Rochko

If you want usable Japan data, I think you have to ask in Japanese.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

avid plushie enjoyer and purchaser here, i think those prices are great for this size and quality plushie, especially if they are ethically made (:
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Brazil, but probably it would cost ~200 BRL plus taxes (maybe)
in reply to corvax

@corvax Everything depends on the numbers. There’s a minimum of 500 units per batch. If 500 is all there’s demand for, then we won’t be able to have different colors.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

not sure if people being super excited about the plushy are very representative of the broader audience, but I would go to Germany to pick one up…
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Australia, which means there’s no way you can keep shipping under US$10 though 🙁
in reply to Eugen Rochko

If you're looking for a partner to make shipping easier for EU: I run a boutique fulfillment company (based in Hamburg) and we only work with brands that follow some kind of societal or environmental impact. Would love to work with you. Let me know if you want to learn more.
in reply to can

@can That sounds interesting. I can see it's @ravioli. Let's talk over e-mail? Mine is eugen@joinmastodon.org.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Is it possible to obtain it without the elephant and with a green shirt instead of the blue one?

@CleoQc I'm limited to four options so I picked 3 places where I know Mastodon is popular and where a warehouse might be located to service the region.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

I'd be surprised if you keep 10 USD for international shipping, but other than that 30 USD seems good for the cute plush
in reply to Eugen Rochko

I love it! But also it's a bit big for me personally. If it was more elePHPant sized (1/3 ish) I'd probably pay €25 +p&p as that's the typical going rate for one of those.

in reply to Eugen Rochko

any chance of producing these fist sized? Something maybe the size of a baseball or softball would be easier to hand out at conventions, ship, and sit on a desk or shelf.
