Egyptian medical equipment manufacturer Bio Business needed to integrate IoT capability into its successful line of patient monitoring devices. #RaspberryPi technology allowed them to do it.
I mean there ain't any competing microcontrollers with that featureset and price point.
Atmel's AVR Tiny series will be more espensive than the Pico if one needs even close the amount of IO it has and other mamufacturers usually go "call for pricing" in that area.
Some contacts of mine who did automation would likely revise their designs today and just put a few #RP2040 on a board instead if an entire platoon of #AVRtiny...
