I used Selfoss until pretty recently, I think Dreamhost rolled out a version of PHP that broke it. I was asking around for a replacement but everything I found was a pita to install and had way more features than I needed or wanted.
So I was going to write my own barebones one but I keep hoping something will crop up. I would jump ship to Hometown in a second if they shoehorn RSS into it somehow
feedspot since google reader passed. I would selfhost, and experimented with a few of that era, but too lazy this last decade. I would guess 80% of my feeds are from 00s, but it continues to accumulate.
self-hosted tinytinyrss for news-type things, my friendica for social-type things. i suppose technically kodi/jellyfin function as rss reader for videos/podcasts for me too. i use a simple shell script to download the media files from tinytinyrss and shaarli's feed to my home server.

I hear wonderful things about Feedly, but I already have Nextcloud running and I like the convenience.
