using it without bigger hassle. Main problems in the past were multi monitor setup with different resolutions. Rest worked already pretty good and there were many improvements already.
as a Linux user, I hope to have access to greater levels of software and hardware integration. I also hope for more and better software. But I don't have any ability to change those things, so I can't set them as goals. I would like to increase my ability to administer and manage Linux systems so that I don't break my system. That's my goal. Be good enough to not break my system.
Create a local distro and a learning platform for new devs.
There have been many distros that have gone dormant because old devs don't have enough time to help. There is also an active distro, but with a single fighter dev.
Switch to a distribution that is not #Ubuntu and that does not use either #Gnome or #KDE (unless the Gnome devs ever decide to give us an actual working screen SAVER, and I do NOT mean a screen LOCKER or a screen BLANKER!!! They need to realize that if you send no signal at all to some TV sets the screen does NOT go blank, but instead displays a big warning that the signal has been lost!). Once the #Cosmic desktop is out of alpha/beta I want to give #PopOS a try, but I have about had it with Ubuntu. Unfortunately I am not conversant enough with Linux to be a frequent "distro hopper" - too afraid I would lose data and software (Linux needs something like the MacOS "Migration Assistant").
1. Significant wayland improvement so we can fully ditch X11. 2. More comprehensive widgets for Waybar. 3. Hopefully more WMs will be ported to Wayland (QTile, Awesome, etc.)
To replace Windows. Not only at home, but also at work. We have already moved to Linux Mint Cinnamon on most work stations. Only Windows machines left, are for those that works with specific soft, like Unreal Engine etc.
From now on any new laptop, will be "made for linux" only. Computers that can't have its uefi/bios/firmware upgraded regardless of operating system, will no longer be something for us.

(Apple products might still be used by a few.)
