is 8gb possible on the rk3566? it'd be a more practical primary device. i do pretty well on my 4gb laptop but largely because the SATA SSD is quite good at swap.

This is going to be fun to watch. As much as I love both Plasma and Plasma Mobile, neither seem particularly designed for an E-ink tablet!

Fun times ahead figuring this out!

In the #PineNote?

It uses the Rockchip RK3566, which isn't open source really, but far more documentation is publically available than for most SoCs.

It runs Linux, in whatever flavor you want.

It's not a "non-existing proto", it's already in the hands of developers. There are pictures in the blog, including one where it's displaying a picture.

You don't have to be interested in the device, but do not lie about it please. 🙂

A dedicated page that lists the specs, shows some screenshots, and has some videos actually showing it being used *would* be quite nice, though. Hard to justify $400 if there's nothing that actually shows off how responsive it actually is =)
