basically I would take the shell, then vim and finally firefox all 3 derive from my linux iso/osi layers 1. kernel & bash ( booting grub , shell prompt ) 2. editor & sudo e.g vim , sudo apt or any package mgr 3. window & file manager (e.g gnome or kde or xfce). 4. disk & network tools e.g netmanager (wired and wireless support, drives and net drives mounting ) 5. internet browser ( mozilla) and office tools e.g libre office 6. development & compiling ( make, gcc or eclipse )
1.) GNOME. It's one of the reasons, why I love Linux. 2.) Mullvad Browser / Tor Browser. 3.) Atmosphere, a distraction free Text editor and despite its shortcomings one of the better OpenSource alternatives for editors like iA Writer or Typora.
