A collection of articles published from 1993-2017 in Wired magazine that "best capture the vibe of the magazine through time". davekarpf.substack.com/p/a-wir…
in reply to kottke.org

it was probably around '95 and teenager me saw my first issue of Wired magazine. I like to place it at the Brentano's in the local mall. It was such an incredible magazine at the time and was so different than the "PC Magazines" back then, even the page stock was better. Everything about it blew me away.

I’m more concerned about its support like future updates/patches after its release and how well the customer service is from China.

I wrote something which draws heavily on @Livingstone_S's excellent 2019 paper 'Audiences in an age of datafication'. I want to read that something now but I can't remember what it is.

I got tired of forgetting where the #RSS / #Atom #feeds are on various #Fediverse platforms and having to track them down, so I started a list.

For another year running I am proud award the Australian Classification Board the title of Biggest Piracy Advocate, keep up the great work guys, you're really helping out the community animenewsnetwork.com/news/2023…
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Is Australia still doing this? I remember years ago they refused classification for Saints Row 4 but for some reason I'd assumed that they would've liberalised the laws around this sort of thing. Apparently not.

The shelf above my work space almost crashed down today. So basically I had to spend most of the day re-arranging stuff in order to avoid most of my hardware getting destroyed.

By 7pm eventually I gave up on working today and started improving my cable management, organizing stuff in a new system...

Hey, it's just material things, but I use those to create stuff. Gotta give some love and care to your tools.

in reply to Nando's Brain

Reads this and then looks over to my work area to make sure all of my gear is closed and stowed correctly for the night.
