The Notre Dame in Paris is scheduled to reopen in late 2024. "The reconstruction itself started last year, after more than two years of work to make the monument stable and secure enough for artisans to start rebuilding it." apnews.com/article/notre-dame-…

in reply to kottke.org

I would love to see that in person some day. Glad to hear it will re-open soon!

We're working in a different tradition of actually decentralized economic networks (where blockchains are centralized in their blockchain, which is a logical central, where each replica of the chain is necessarily the exact same thing.

The other tradition started around 1980 by Bill McCarthy williamemccarthy.com/ and is called REA, for Resources, Events, and Agents.

It evolved into an economic system model in the late 1990's.

Long ago I read slush for an SF&F book publisher. Many manuscripts came in with handmade maps. The maps, shall we say, varied in quality. One did appreciate the enthusiasm. If there was no return postage, I kept the map in a binder.

Nope, but it looks that way! The oblique angle of the photo, taken from the @Space_Station, along with shadows from New York City skyscrapers give the photograph a sense of three-dimensionality.
