Has anyone noticed that the gradient at the top of the page animates? Or is it too subtle? kottke.org/about/ama/
in reply to kottke.org

I read fairly quickly, sometimes skim for headings that look interesting. I think I had scrolled (Firefox on Windows) to a later question before I would have noticed any animation. I'll go back and look, though
in reply to kottke.org

Yes, I went and looked - the animation is really nice but as I replied a minute ago, I was probably focused on the content and didn't notice.

Does anyone know what this reader is called?

I see it on all publisher's pages and I don't trust that they all use the same one (Plus I found QuantCast scripts embedded for tracking)

@danwchan yea 😔 i couldn’t find *any* branding on these. Readcube is heavily branded, no?

More obscurity makes me more suspicious 😒

When in Manipur, you don’t leave without visiting the world famous Ima market (women’s market).

Big claim from the internet: “Established in the 16th century, it is the ONLY market in the world run entirely by women. The market hosts about 5-6000 women vendors who sell a variety of things (from veggies to gold)”.

Women power and empowerment is not a recent concept to Manipur.

Model: Someone I know.
