Valve has been doing so much good for gaming on Linux with steamDeck + Proton, this is great. github.com/ValveSoftware/Proto…
in reply to David Amador

Epic should pour some of that exclusive/free games deals money into this sort of things too.
in reply to David Amador

Fun thing is for Epic you can use the Heroic Games Launcher on Linux, works well
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

nice, but they should put more attention to linux imo, I don't think even their main games work on Linux anymore don't they?
in reply to David Amador

nah Epic don't support Linux directly with their games, but they do with unreal engine, tis a shame really

I would love for a [mouse focus loss on respawn] fix for Overwatch 2, but it's a regression since.. jeez, proton 5.1ish?

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger issue, but I suppose not many people play Overwatch on a steam deck much less on Linux desktop 🫠

Good news is you can still play bug free (besides gradual fps drop) by using an older proton version, so it's not all bad.

Any news on Paladins/EAC on Linux lately? I miss it ever so much~

@Jay Bryant Actually, stuff like this could be helpful for convincing your cat to take their pills! Also, potentially useful if you need to change their diet.

Going to share a few more up-close shots of the new Mastodon merch! I'm happy that we got to incorporate some Mastodon history in the designs. Mind you there's only going to be 250 of each at launch!

Eugen Rochko reshared this.

I suspect we will all have about 30 seconds to get one of these bits of treasure. 😮‍💨

Google's Web Environment Integrity Will Destroy The Web #Linux #YouTube youtu.be/tm3gH-ycykw
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Do you feel we should focus heavily on supporting what's left of the open web and using things like static sites and/or self-hosted solutions to maintain digital sovereignty of our own portion of the Web or have we found any other technologies which could be used in replacement for the Web, like Gemini or Gopher?
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I wonder whether you'd be interested in following up with a comparision with the RFC for the *Evil Bit*
rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc3514

You might already know about it but if not do double check the date after reading 😀
Published 10 years after the clipper chip.

As Google's proposal is effectively a modern analogy of setting a flag to attest that the host or traffic is benign my thoughts did turn to it being an Inverse Evil Bit, and how this approach has been parodied 20 years ago.

Almost a month ago, the vet told me Happy, at 13.5yrs, was nearing liver failure. It was almost certainly cancer based on her bloodwork.

Here she is today, after many more vet visits, an overnight in the ER & 4 meds. Turns out it was a bacterial infection. She’s recovering & I highly recommend pet insurance.

I’m so grateful for more time with this very good girl. I also know that no matter how many years we’re fortunate to have w our dogs & cats, it’s never going to be enough. #DogsOfMastodon
