Mastodon has some periods of surges of new users, but the consistent pattern is lack of user engagement.

And that needs to change for it to become a viable platform.

I was really hoping Andrew Huberman and his crowd would come to Mastodon.

That hope was kind of dashed when he published a picture of a friend celebrating a birthday with Elon Musk.
