For people building the Fediverse, there are some free complementary tickets for this event https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fediforum-tickets-518084874807

Good to have the voices of the people who do the work there. Ask me or @j12t for the code, thanks.

Do I qualify for one for one of the free tickets?
I could not click on @J12t his domain was missing. But search worked.

This #openweb event is being run on a #dotcons platform https://qiqochat.com/about

In the #Fediverse we have a good history of using #BBB https://bigbluebutton.org/ as is native, not alien to WHY and HOW we do things. Can understand coming in from the #fahernista and #NGO agenda is a learning curve, good to try to be native to the space you would like to be a part of. Welcome.

@J12t @UncensoredNews We have used QiQochat for many events, including the Internet Identity Workshop which has been held consistently since 2003 and She’s Geeky: Connecting Women in Tech held sporadically since 2007. The platform works well and we like the founders Lucas and Sandra. They are a tiny family biz.

I like looking at new platforms, and am totally open to checking out Big Blue Button. Fahernista isn’t a term I know, but yes, I work for an NGO.

@J12t @UncensoredNews hmmm… seems that you and a few others use fahernista as a perjorative term.

You are welcome at our event, but no name calling. That’s our TOS.

@fediforum @J12t @UncensoredNews

We touch on the current mess in communication here, am definitely talking about social groups https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_social_groups you appear to be talking about feelings. Can you explane how we can compost this potential mess? Best to put the #TOS stick down to walk this path.

If you are interested in talking about this mess then a good starting point for me is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociological_imagination

@J12t @UncensoredNews it’s funny how using pejorative terms about people makes them have feelings.

@fediforum @J12t @UncensoredNews not reading the link... This is the discussion you are maybe not interested in so let's put it down along with the rest of the sticks.

Working on a draft #4opens review of the proposed video conf app, it's not "native". Of course not policing what people use rather outlining good/traditional practice https://unite.openworlds.info/Open-Media-Network/4opens/issues/13 My thinking you would be better off using #BBB as this is a gold #4opens app and a good tradition of organizing events for the #Fediverse using this tools so win/win 😀

@J12t @UncensoredNews I’ve used QiQoChat for several events, really liked it. It’s a husband and wife team, great people, fun and easy to work with.

Being fun and easy to work with is the most important thing for me.

I’m happy to look at other things for future virtual events.
