Here's a screenshot of my desktop. I wanted a non-distracting background, so I created one with mostly a solid color, but also with a long line (based on a Hilbert space-filling curve) just in case a window had the same color as the background. A program created the images (multiple versions for different colors) and the images are installed using a Debian package.
I have the boringest setup, and that's the point 😄 . Debian, MATE, and hardware nearing 10 years old. No reason to replace yet but I did upgrade the RAM at one point to run VMs for testing builds on various OSes.
