A final touch on a somewhat damaged cake, i need to learn how to take it out properly out of its mold, there's apparently a technique to it.

But the velour effect distracts wonderfully from the flaws ^^ 😮‍💨🎂

First attempt at Creme Brûlée.

Extremely tasty, didn’t quite get the custard consistency right, and my torch is out of gas so I had to use the grill which isn’t quite as effective.

Will need to try again at some point.

NB: these are called Apple Beignets in the south of the Netherlands and in Belgium, but in the North where my Grandparents are from, they're Appelflappen.

The pie inside. Worked pretty well. I think 6 apples instead of four might have been better, and while the 25% rye flour in the pastry was a nice change, a lighter full white pastry might have suited better. #dessert #pie
