Launch of the 'furze pavilion' is this weekend in Wicklow Ireland, celebrating the technological and social history of this plant.
I spent this evening painting gorse thorns with tempera paint made with the ashes of burned drawings of gorse bushes that were drawn in charcoal made from gorse branches.

This was part of the international research project investigating wildfires called FIRECULT. For the project, I created charcoal and made new drawings, made work with fire, and created two new video artworks.
