The Inner Beauty of Mars β DaG 1037 with trapped Martian Atmosphere
This slice was made by others, but it best reveals what lies within my 2kg Martian stone. My focus is on the vesicles that riddle the darker shock-melt areas.Flickr
One of the most unique meteorites: "Black Beauty" (NWA 7034) Martian Basaltic Breccia.
Although I could never find thin sections of this particular one, I was able to acquire related ones: NWA 11220 and NWA 8171.

In the 70s I lived on a large commune in the hills near NASA Ames. One of us worked there under Dr Sagan making a stereo map of Mars from Mariner 9 photos
Never one to turn down an audience he brought his slideshow (the bones of Cosmos) up the mountain and gave 150 hippies a tour of the Universe projected on a pair of white sheets!
It was truly awesome β¨ ππͺ
