Major Electrical Appliance Risk & Food Recalls

In today’s safety update, we cover two recalls a major nationwide consumer safety warnings and a frozen food recall.

1. Galanz Retro Compact Refrigerators (7.6 cu. ft.) sold nationwide at Home Depot and online at Amazon. Over 121,000 units are being recalled due to internal electrical component short circuits that pose a serious fire risk (34 incidents reported).
   Retailers: Home Depot & Amazon (Jan 2019 – Sept 2022)
   Model Numbers to check: G L R 7 6 or B C D 2 1 5 series with date codes between Dec 2018 and Dec 2020.
   Action: Unplug immediately and contact Galanz for a free in-home repair.
2. Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods Recall (USDA & FDA Alert): Over 22,000 lbs. of ready-to-eat meals are being recalled due to metal sliver contamination (small aluminum pan fragments).
   Recalled Items: Ukrop’s Baked Spaghetti, Chicken Cobbler, and Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce.
   Affected Stores: Food Lion, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Publix, Wegmans, Libbie Market, and Military Commissaries (NC, VA, WV, KY).
   Best By Dates: Ranging through August 5th.
   Action: Do not consume. Return to store for a full refund.

It's that time of year when states have tax holiday weekends on large purchases, and folks do winter prep and college dorm prep so I thought it important to pass this one along.
