This has happened to a lesser extent before, which is why I always prioritize privacy-oriented DNS solutions over the most well-known ones. And yes, security goes hand in hand with privacy.
In the time I have used @quad9dns , #ControlD or @AdGuard, I have never had this problem.
However, I think Cloudflare is innovative and has some good features/solutions.
