Hey y'all! Quick reminder that you can still sign up to attend #SolsticeSchool talks until the event itself, here ✨ https://solsticeschool.scholar.social/2024/programme

What talks are you most looking forward to attending?!

We're now looking for moderators for #SolsticeSchool talks!

Moderators introduce presenters, keep an eye on chat, keep time, and help facilitate discussion afterward. We generally don't run into trouble, but we like to have someone in the talk to make sure everything's running smoothly.

More info here: https://solsticeschool.scholar.social/2024/moderators/

Reminder that #SolsticeSchool submissions close on 30 June (next Sunday!). We still have 15 slots for presentations so if you've been hesitating to submit we'd encourage it!!

See information about presenting + apply here: https://solsticeschool.scholar.social/2024/presenters/ 🌞

You can still register to come along to #SolsticeSchool talks!

The first one starts sometime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning (for most timezones)

We're looking for moderators for #SolsticeSchool talks!

Moderators introduce presenters, keep an eye on chat, keep time, and facilitate discussion afterwards-- it's generally a low-key role, but we like to have someone else around in a talk to make sure everything's running smoothly.

What's your favourite talk from a previous year's #SolsticeSchool ?

https://solsticeschool.scholar.social/

@nev's presentation on "what the news gets wrong about spider bites" is hard to top!

Last year, I had an AI write us up some terrible memes for #SolsticeSchool

They're bad, you're welcome

Anyway

We're still accepting proposals for presentations here:

Hi all!!

We're now opening signups for #SolsticeSchool presentations!! The form will be open until 1 July.

You don't have to be on scholar.social to present. We welcome people from all disciplines and experiences. We've had presentations on spiders, frugal computing, Afro-Indigenous phenomenology, data (im)permanence... and more!! It's always a blast and we're excited to see what you submit this year!
