Discord for Linux gets Flathub Verified https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/10/discord-for-linux-gets-flathub-verified/

This sucks so much. I kept telling numerous people " #discord is NOT a forum, it is an IRC app, stop building your communities in it around stuff that needs to be found with a search engine and archived, it's a bad idea for numerous reasons including the overpopulation of server topics in an app that has a 100 server limit" but nobody listened. I hate being right.

We're about to have yet ANOTHER internet library of alexandria situation assuming this shit retroactively applies to existing stuff.

Please make Matrix or NextCloud tutorials. 😒 There are a lot about Discord already, and this one is as anti-good as anti-good can get - don't resort to "native" #Discord app, there is PWA already.

Why would you even bother with that shit. The very next step is "give us your actual real life phone number", which you obviously wouldn't.

So far this @Raspberry_Pi 3b+ has been handling my #discord #twitch #Twitter and #mastodon notifications and cross-poster reliably well over PoE.

Racked my @Raspberry_Pi running my #Twitch to #mastodon alerter that also goes to #discord. And also my @PINE64 Rock64 running my Monero node. Everything running off PoE as well

@JMMaok Oh my that sounds so fun. It would be a way to scout for cultural similarity between instances and best fit for users (could it be an abuse vector though?). #Discord charges users to use their custom server #emoji between servers and I would appreciate a more open approach... but after tracking down the issue page for joinmastodon.org I realized don't really know how would this work. Would require some sort of central #search able database of emoji?

@tyil If you like #Discord then wait till you tried #Zulip:

Cuz that stuff's even better!

Did some research on #SteamDeck. Seems like #SteamDeck supports #Flatpak. In fact, it would be the preferred application install method.

So I can install #Discord with Flatpak on a SteamDeck and chat over it.

The bad news is Discord client with Flatpak doesn't support game overlay.
