I know Arch is sometimes seen as a go-to for hacking something together. Instinctively I would think Puppy or similar more suited given that it has the tools for layering a read-write filesystem in RAM over a read-only filesystem (say a squashfs), with periodic write-back to a persistence file.
I still wouldn't be the one to try it though.

Will have to try this! Last time I needed to sign a PDF, I tried all the libre options I could find, but nothing worked. When I finally broke down and tried with official Adobeโข Acrobatโข for Windowsโข on a friends PC, even that didn't work and I just ended up printing and physically signing the damned thing.
If Nextcloud can provide a FOSS option that WORKS, it will be a great day!
