despite photoshop calling it the eyedropper, that option is in a distant third place, losing only to turkey baster. this isn't my screenshot (i don't have photoshop), so i can't say whether they change "color sampler" to "colour sampler" if you use other english dialects
gimp calls it the colOr picker with my system set to australian english - but they do spell it as "colour" in the british english localisation 🥴
inkscape calls it the "dropper tool", and prompts me to select colOUrs from the document
hilariously, KDE's kolOUrpaint calls it the "colOr picker"
