Genau wie @heiseonline das auch zu haben scheint. Aber bei unseren Link-Vorschauen fehlen anders als bei Heise die Autor:innen trotzdem. Kann das jemand erklรคren? ( @Gargron fรผr frechen Highlevel-Problemlรถsungstag ๐Ÿ˜)

"Learning to listen carefully and focus on others takes hard workโ€”and it requires you to find a way to quiet the thoughts that may distract you when youโ€™re supposed to be listening. Quieting these thoughts is what humility is all about.

"Patience is another important skill to have in your arsenal if you want to become a better listener. You must be patient enough to let the conversation flow naturally, rather than trying to chime in with your own stories or focusing on your own thoughts.

"And you must be patient with yourself. Becoming an active listener requires time and practice. You wonโ€™t pick it up overnight, but if youโ€™re patient, over time you will find yourself using your active listening skills to make life better."

Kernel development? what a big step! Not sure if i'm ready for that...

in reply to It's FOSS

these are good tips, sometimes on Linux using a lower graphical setting can also help with FPS, personally i want to enjoy the game and have a less accent on graphics (and i own an Nvidia rtx 3060ti)๐Ÿ™‚

as an external asset so the browser only has to make one request per image. the way theyโ€™re doing it, it has to load the full SVG, each time, for every image.
in reply to sam henri gold

You can only color inline SVGs with CSS though, so it kind of has to be done this way.

Now that SteamOS is starting to become more wide spread, I have a close acquaintance that wants to use it once it becomes easily available on most hardware. This makes me a happy monkey. :BlobhajPrideHeart:

I finally ran a benchmark (should have done this months ago when I bought the thing). And, my seems to be underperforming, as I expected.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Is it just bad silicon? This benchmark is underperforming compared to the exact lesser counterpart of the same manufacturer.

Can you share the command to run that benchmark? Maybe I can give some comparison

M4

When the M1 MacBooks dropped, they looked amazing and I picked one up in 2021. It's 2025 now, so it's fairly typical of me to be upgrading. It felt a little unnecessary since my M1 was: extremely perfectly fine. It's an excellent machine really and it will continue to be for it's next owner for surely many, many years. I'm just a privileged dude and we have a work budget for these things.

I hoard everything. I should probably recycle the old stuff, heh.

dell has made the genius move of completely changing their naming scheme for all products. gone are the latitudes and XPSs and inspirons. now we have a two-pronged system: there's three categories (dell, dell pro, dell pro max (yes, really)), as well as three tiers (base, plus, premium)

this means we'll now have something like "Dell Pro Max 13 Premium" instead of "Dell XPS+ 13", and "Dell 15" instead of "Dell Inspiron 15". in some ways, this is clearer, sure, but it has the same problem replacing tweets with "posts" does: "XPS" on its own is short and memorable and doesn't require you to mention the brand. now it's a Dell Pro Max Premium, which is far clunkier. there's a reason samsung calls it an "S24 Ultra" and not a "Samsung 24 Ultra Premium".

dude, you're getting a Dell Pro Max 15 Premium!

I just had a glitch in the RSS feed resulting in me getting the last 50+ articles anew. But that's not the reason for me writing.

Getting this massive overview showed me that you published a few opinion articles or commentaries like this one in the last few days and weeks and I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate those. The news are great but putting context around developments is even better. So thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

@fluchtkapsel oooer, I did fuck about with the RSS earlier to take into account the link for the new guides type of articles, and i screwed a bit up on it but i fixed that

email me if it happens again after today

i have more editorials and guides and such to come, 2025 is a big year!
