Over the last many weeks, I have been watching 2 attentive chickadees fly to & fro my garden bird house.
But this afternoon, I noticed the little house had fallen down - just 6”- but the front was tipped down into the mulch. We had a fierce thunderstorm last night, so it was probably left that way all day w temps over 90 F. I rehung the wooden house, feeling so sad for these tiny beings.
And yet, the parents have resumed collecting insects, popping in & out of their home.
So I am hopeful.
