This right here. This is one of the greatest lies ever perpetuated upon the digital world.

I'm up date! Windows just checked!

Yet when I hit that "Check for updates" button, at least 90% of the time there are updates. And I stress "updateS." Multiple-updates. This software has one job, and it doesn't even do it all that well.

The Windows Update information. It says "You're up to date. Last checked: Today, 10:27 AM" Below that is a button that says "Check for updates"

Even still, I want the updates! 🤓

I booted up a Windows 10 VM that I hadn't fired up in weeks. It's not a critical system, obviously, but when I need it, I NEED it. Okay, well, let's make sure it's up to date. Launch Windows Update.

Ah yes. I'm sure there were absolutely no updates for Windows 10 in the last four weeks.

Pepsì was too big to squeeze in to the box with a post in front of it, so I moved the post further up the cat tree. He seems to approve of this new arrangement.

Pepsì made it to the very top of the cat tree on his own. (it's a double height pole to supporting that platform and thus it sways slightly, and Pepsì is the definition of a scardy-cat).
