Currently, old satellites either burn up safely in the atmosphere or remain in space. But we're working on new technology that could refuel or upgrade satellites while in space, expanding their lifespans and making spaceflight more sustainable: go.nasa.gov/3WCtVir

Great, now stop Musk from polluting LEO with his 50,000 Starlink satellites. Why does a billionaire get free reign over our limited space resources???

@nasa. That’s great but won’t fixing the old satellites be akin to rehabbing a 1965 Rambler as opposed to driving a new Audi? Fix up old junk and you end up with fixed up, obsolete junk.

Not the first time nor the last. Staying on #LastPass is asking for trouble at this point. #BitWarden is better but using a centralized cloud provider remains a security risk still.

ByteDance used TikTok to track my location — and the locations of two of my colleagues — to try to find our sources. We reported on this back in October, but kept things vague to protect sources. Today ByteDance admitted it, so we can say much more:

Early warnings on floods can save lives, but roughly half of the world's countries lack adequate early warning systems.

That's about to change, thanks to a new tool developed by @nasa and the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC).

This is the first time comprehensive global flood early warnings at the sub-watershed level have been possible.

Thanks to MoM and DisasterAWARE, small and vulnerable communities now have a powerful new tool to take early action on flooding and protect lives and livelihoods.

One thing that Mastodon newcomers may not realize is how easy it is to turn Mastodon for web into essentially a Tweetdeck clone, with columns for search/compose, home, notifications, and any lists you've set up. It takes literally seconds.

Hey,

just to the wishlist-idea:

I think if Michael could add .. say ten items to the wishlist and then Ryan would add ten more, the "unboxing-stream" could get really funny:

Michael wouldn't know in advance if there is an actual wish in the box or some weird item Ryan has added to the list.

Listeners who contribute (maybe I would) also can only guess if they buy an actual wish or Ryans stuff...

Greetings from Beckum, Germany
