I installed Linux over ChromOS on my daughter's Chromebook - and she didn't even notice the difference.

I did a show about elephant conservation. For that show a friend and I made two elephant skulls that need to be re-homed or thrown out. Elephant skulls don't look anything like you would expect! Especially if the skulls have been removed.

One of the first I made, Angrites captured my attention and led to more work with meteorite thin sections.

I once did a show where I had a friend dressed up like a zombie mummy princess. She wandered through the audience moaning "knickers...knickers..." until the scoundrels who stole them gave them back!
Sadly, they must now go to the tip. Don't tell any zombie mummy princesses where I now live!

"Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; that I may be reasonably happy in this life." the next verse (with religion omitted)

First heatwave of 2025 engulfs Australia's south-east while monsoon and cyclones mysteriously missing in action

2025 is opening with a broad heatwave stretching through the heart of Australia, continuing a pattern of exceptional heat which included the nation's hottest spring on record, and third hottest December on record.

Today and tomorrow it is getting up to around the 39C mark.

in reply to Muse

Just today the Google Home switched to saying "38.4 degrees in Nillumbik Shire", so something apparently got updated somewhere. 😀

I love the comment someone made about this Japanese sign: "Still trying to determine if this is a list of available amenities or the names of alternative rock bands that have stayed here." I'm also delighted to know that the sheep are comfortable and the dolphins are clean!

My mom brought my old Caboodle to Thanksgiving & I finally got around to opening it.

Check out the old Swatch watches that my brother and I wore in the late 80s or early 90s! If the plastic wasn’t cracked I’d totally start wearing mine again.

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

I had the protector for mine that was like a large rubber band that stretched across the middle of the watch face.
