I'm stuck between Debian and fedora.

Probably fedora. Though Debian is more flexible....
If I had to choose for someone, it'd be fedora.
But for me probably Debian (with #guix) or something

#Guix

debian. sometimes incredible hard to bend it a little bit. but that's the point 🙂

I've been very comfortable on Manjaro the last few years.

#debian . Never used it as a daily driver. But as the ultimate failsafe, reliable rocksolid, no frills distro it has served me on countless projects.

Other distro appeal to me but appeal at a certain point wears off.

If I need to use a distro for the rest of my life, let it be without appeal, but instead bulletproof.

I've become a big fan of #GarudaLinux. Really any Arch distro, but I really love the cosmetic touches in the Garuda flavors.

Really for life? Then it should be Debian (stable) ❤️

Fedora with KDE. Smoothest Linux experience I had so far
in reply to It's FOSS

Linux Mint or Linux Mint Debian edition. I like Fedora with KDE, but it is a heavier combination and many of my computers are older. Mint works on a wide range of PCs.

I really like Fedora KDE, but since it's funded by Big Tech, I'm fully confident that IBM will eventually ruin it.

So; once it's fully baked, I will try out KDE Linux.

Half a year ago I would have said #fedora, but nowadays I'm totally amazed of #cachyos on the Steam Deck.

On the desktop I had the best overall experience with #nixos, so I'd go with that.

Current answer is Mint. Second choice is Debian. Ubuntu lost me with the 12.04 and 14.04 changes, and has only gotten worse since then. Sticking with what works for me, and the base distro it is built on as back-up.

@puppylinux immutable long time before this buzzword, rock solid , work absolutly almost on any machine old and new , never break and reliable, and more it is based on different distro @debian @slackware

trick question because no one is going to do that. Debian.

Debian has been excellent for me. It's easy to install, easy to configure, easy to customize...and there's also the selection of software available for it. I have one computer that doesn't run Debian, and it runs Ubuntu Studio for recording.

Just how many times do you need to ask questions like this?
in reply to It's FOSS

debian. All my servers run on it and all my computers have it as a base distro.

Been on Fedora since release 17, its soon to be on release 44, I don't see me changing any time soon!!

I would use an atomic distribution like SecureBlue, Aurora (UniversalBlue) or blendOS (Arch).
in reply to It's FOSS

I use @NixOS btw.

Ubuntu is also ok.

And openSuse. And Fedora.

#Debian for sure! I love that Debian is a community organized project with an elected leader and a Social Contract.

fedora Workstation in personal laptop.
debian stable for work and servers

I’d have to say Fedora. I’ve tried to talk myself into leaving it a few times, but I stay.
