Lepidothelphusa menneri n. sp. (Crustacea: Brachyura: Gecarcinucidae), first record of the genus from Kalimantan, Indonesia

-slaps imaginary roof- these bucket ponds can hold so many of these little crustaceans. I think they’re Asellus Aquaticus, water louse.

I can’t believe I made this little habitat and now I’ve got this population of native crustaceans I had never seen before! :blobaww:

A pond in a black bucket, there is a small grey crustacean sitting on the end of a long green iris leaf, and another is perched behind on the inside wall of the bucket
Three crustaceans sitting in a triangle formation on a submerged rock. The smallest is dark almost black, then a lighter brown one and the largest is almost white. All three have a brown stripe down the centre from head to butt
5 of them, all white-ish, are perched on the inside wall of the bucket facing in different directions. They have 2 pairs of fanned out whisker-looking structures I think at the back end but I haven’t fully worked that out. There is one more at the bottom almost hidden under the stem of a submerged plant apart from 5 pairs of white legs clinging on and 2 antennae
