Somehow universities need a return to broad-spectrum learning that isn't wholly driven by money, doctrinaire politics, and testing mania.
Homeschooling is a similar cooperative venture among households, though not at the same scale as a formal cooperative educational environment.
Would K-12 schools cooperatively managed by parents and staff, free from interference by politics and money, be possible as community centers?

in my class we got to have these "journeys" where the teacher would play a "guided meditation" CD and we would just lie on the floor with our eyes closed minutes listening to "you wake up on a beach with crystal clear water and nothing but the sound of the waves around you" for forty five minutes

this project combined a few different interests
for one, I wanted to archive what books I was reading in a better way. like normal, this turned into an elaborate yak shaving hair salon.
I thought in some ways creating a static html page would be more durable than putting something on bookwyrm. I was inspired by the library pages of @clarity (clarity.flowers/books/) and toby shorin (tobyshorin.com/library/) as well as others
at the same time I liked bookwyrm and the idea of being a part of a commons in addition to an individual website
I also had been interested to experiment with representing something from activitypub with a new frontend, which seems to me to be one of the magic parts of an open web

I ask because I haven't seen any of the spam here yet, but then I rarely visit the federated feed.
So I presume I will only see it if someone I follow actually posts the spam or boosts it.
Otherwise the spammer would have to "at" me for it to be in my mentions or notifications.
BUT I don't want to downplay the problem, is there anything else going on that I've not covered?

In the network space we've had distributed amplification attacks which work on the same concept but in terms of (say) IP or DNS protocol amongst others.
