Only if they would release an iso of their distro that would work with other hardware.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

If only I hadn't already played through FF7R. Alas.

But been waiting for this and just 10-bit colour to work properly in general for quite a while, tbh

I wonder if it has anything to do with the alternative PC handhelds on the rise (though I installed Linux on mine, as I'm sure many did)

I am so sorry. I know this image is meant to be romantic, but I can't unsee buttocks! Forgive me!

It was meant to be romantic. Don't get all butt heart over it …
in reply to Muse

Hey, isn't there some bit of wisdom about not putting the butt before the heart?

The Mouse Print website run by Edgar Dworsky keeps track of "shrinkflation" in consumer products, when brands quietly replace their products for slightly smaller versions at the same price. mouseprint.org/

in reply to Muse

@dianea 100% agreed. My deal with this particular gripe is that the easier and faster way to do "easy and fast" is not doing it in the first place. The cheapie Walmart vacuum accomplishes this. The Roomba did not.

Really interesting series. I initially thought it was going to be articles covering what you need to turn modern hardware into a retro gaming machine... Gaming on Linux back in the day was ridiculously difficult. I vaguely remember psuedo-official launchers (offered but not really supported) for some games even.

Miley Cyrus and David Byrne Perform David Bowie's "Let's Dance". Byrne is a national, no, *international* treasure. youtube.com/watch?v=VpLrB_1Epe…

We watched the entire program this year, and it was all weird and messy, but wonderful and surprisingly touching. The best kind of weird live variety show you don’t see in today’s over-slick network TV.
in reply to kottke.org

I am convinced David Byrne successfully channeled Bowie’s spirit in that moment. He sure sounded like Bowie (with a touch of Byrne).

I must be one of the few people in the world that just despises these “interactive” stories. So much scrolling, so much movement, and it rarely (I would argue never) adds anything to the story. I wish there was an “accessibility” button on these that would give me a traditional presentation so o could just take in the information.

The current Steam Survey numbers seem...off.

Reads like Pop!_OS and Linux Mint weren't being counted before.

It also shows a total increase for Linux over last month, despite the overall percentage being lower. Whut.

This entry was edited (3 years ago)
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

I wondered if they counted Flatpak separately. I was using that on Arch, then when I switched to Fedora recently, I kept using the Flatpak. Hard to beat the convenience when using proprietary software.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

This encouraged me to spend the time to upgrade from Mint 20.3 to Mint 21 so i could be in the list next month. Cheers.
